Pyro Reading Erratic

Took a trip this weekend, a lot of mountain passes. Problem was that the pyro gauge would go from 600 or 700 to 0, and then back again.
I slapped the gauge and that did nothing (thought maybe something loose in there). Can the pyro probe go bad like that? Or how about the wire. I did a quick check of the connection to the pyro probe and it seemed tight. The pyro probe is post turbo.

Thanks for the help

I would check the wiring for sure. 90% of gauge issues are wiring. So the probe connections, power connection, grounds all need a once over.
