pro torque converter

pro torque converter

new pro tc installed today and in lock up started shuttering does line pressure need to be increased and if so to what press, do i need to change the valvle body, it seems stock vb is no diff from aftermarket vb just shift kit is added to after market vb thanx

An aftermarket vb is a stock vb with a shift kit, but every vendor adds their own experience and secrets to it. If line pressure hasn't been increased, you can turn the screw 1-2 turns.

wow thanks brother i really appreciate the fback, i always thought thats why most tranny guys just build thier own vb, the prob wasnt shifting, felt like the tc in lock up was shuttering and i didnt wanna drive right throught it, what should the line press be on a rb trans with pro tc, any idea

With a pressure gauge at the port on the passenger side of the tranny, pressure should be 55-65 psi at idle and 64-72 psi in Drive with TC locked at about 1900 rpms. Here's instructions on how to remove and install the VB as well as proper pressures:

are there many diffrences between the 2000-2004 trucks as described in the bd guide link and my 1994 ram??????? I don't think there should be many.

looking to do trans mission mods ect eventually..

(sorry if I am hijacking the thread)

Don't worry about hijackng the thread we are all here to help each other my truck is a 97 dually with Rb trans , red eag clutches pro single disk bad *** tq prob is shuttering during lockup I think stock press has to be turned up to get line press and fluid to the clutches I could be wrong but um not gonna ruin the converter by being antsy with my new trans rebuild
