Upgraded to a DTT torque convertor, valve body and new clutches at 87K back in 2001... had the money... not because the tranny was shot. Now at 201K and not a problem. Did replace a bearing in the overdrive unit 2 yrs ago at about 187K.

 

My stock lasted until 60K miles. Then put in a Goerend. Use OD-off until 50 mph when towing about 7 tons.

 

Your scaring me having to drive so much with OD/lockup off. I can see it with a fair load, but empty or light load? That doesn't sound very good.
