Oil getting dirty faster.

What the title says. Use to be able to go a few thousand miles and my oil got darker, but not black now it gets black in a few thousand miles. I changed the oil tonight and will send it away to get analyzed see what they say about it. Any ideas?

If you're not always getting your engine warm enough before and flushed out enough after using the veggie oil your injectors could be coked up, not spraying correctly causing a poor burn = soot.
It doesn't take many times spacing out with the fueling to cause problems.
This is the reason a lot of folks who once touted running veggie oil have switched to making their own biodiesel instead.

Do you pull the drain plug and get that last quart out of the injection pump? I found that makes a big difference in the visual.

Think summer will be here by Canada Day?

I can't roll coal. I get a little puff off the start and that is it.

Injectors was one of the things that crossed my mind. Was initially planning to remove them after 50k on WVO just to check them out, but it seems there is never a good time to dump $500.00 unless you have to. I have not noticed any difference in how the truck starts, runs, or idles. There is also no hazing at idle. I am going to wait for my results from the oil analysis and see what they say. I have been telling my wife I need some DDP 75's.

I did not even know there was a drain on the IP. Where is it?

One step at a time. We are still waiting for spring. Most of the fields around the area here are not even seeded, but now they are finally able to start.
We need summer by Canada Day. Going fishing 6hrs north of the border and need the ice off the lake. Lots of walleye and northerns to catch.

The hex head cap a little below the governor spring plug.

I'm thinking it may be normal, too. Did you change oil brands?
The new CJ-4 oils have more detergent than previous.

When I change my oil I do it when I can leave the truck set overnite w/the oil drain plug open, this seems to pull oil out of the filter & prolly the motor too.

dirty oil

i have been told by "people that know"that oil that stays clean is not doing its job. the dark oil has the contamination in suspense so the filter will catch more of it. very hard to filter out carbon though
