NV 4500 to 3rd GEN 6 speed

I think I blew third gear apart in the tranny the other day. I have access to a 3rd generation wrecked with a six speed in it. Has anyone converted a 12v to this tranny and what is the difficulty of this. I've wanted a six speed for a long time and this might be my chance.

Thank you,

Ben

Talk to Box5 he has done the NV4500, the trans would be a bit different but the actual steps would probably be about the same.

So you are saying the crossmember mount should be thte same reverse mount as the nv5600? Will the t-case bolt up to the new getrag?

i'm not familiar with the difference's between the nv4500 and the new 6spd getrag as far as matching up the t-case and bellhousing. Sorry, but i'm not much help with this one. I made my own trans mount for the nv4500 so it's to hard, just get the trans in place and fab somthing up on top of the rubber mount. I'll try a search...
