new torque converter install

Getting everything I need to install the triple disc from Georend, and the 1-2 apply lever, and a few other bits. I haven't got a manual for the truck yet, and haven't needed one as most tech has been found on this board. I've thumbed through the chilton and haynes manuals at schlep boys and decided that they were not even good as toilet paper. Any pointers before I get into this? I've done plenty of removal/ install before, just wondering if there's some thing or two to watch out for. I'm really looking forward to having a converter that can actually get the power to the wheels.

I bet you can get some great information from Dave Goerend himself. They might even be able to send you some instructions. I have heard the best things about their customer service. Their phone number is (563) 778-2719.
Give them a call and see.

The only difficult issue is getting cross member in and out. They are TIGHT. If you can get your hands on some type of hydraulic ram, it would make the job much easier. Just spread the chasis a hair. The rest of the removal and install is just like any other auto trans. Now if you had the 5600 then you would have a little more challenge. That trans is heavy.

Thanks for the feedback. Crossmember has been out once recently for the 4" exhaust, should not be tough now. Thinking that while the trans is drained, I should do the lines to the cooler. They look original, probably good insurance to replace.
