I just had perofrmance mods done on my truck. Since it is a CA truck, the EGR valve had to go. Now, the computer is still looking for the EGR and it is giving me a check engine light. My mechanic has scaned the engine and the codes that come up are related to the EGR. He's suggested that I look for a computer off another 97' Ram that wasn't orriginally equiped with an EGR. Does anyone out there know someone that has one to sell?

Disconnect the check engine light. The only thing it does is indicate a malfunction with the emissions system. Since you no longer have and emissions system....doesn't serve much purpose.

When I took my EGR off I didn't have that problem.
