I found this 1st gen that needs a little work.

The dealer claims it just needs an injector........... Questions.......

What are common signs of a bad injector ?

Can a bad injector cause major damage ?

What should I look out for ?

1: depending on how bad the injector is, it could run rough. If only slightly bad, it'll run fine but may smoke.
2: Yes, if injector is real bad, and/or been run extensively with a bad injector.
3: diesel fuel in the oil.

Don't think a 1st gen will add fuel to the oil like a 3rd gen does when the injector goes bad.
When an injector gets really bad it can make a loud knocking that scares the hell out of you.
Couldn't be good to run it that way.
