need help!!

i got a 94 dodge 2500 4x4 5 speed!! when i start it and untill it gets good and hot the engine about every 20 seconds or so acts like somethin is cyclying and has a strain on it!! only last 5 seconds or so!! the volt meter wiil be above 14 and when this happens it will go down to about 10 or so! the motor runs fine and everything is turned OFF!! the heat is off and all!!!! what will cause this?!?! any help would be greatly thanked!!!!!!!!!! thanks muddindodge!!!

If it is cold where you are, it is the grid heaters cycling to heat the incoming air.
It is normal.

it was about 38 or so today and i didnt have it pluged in but it does it if its pluged in or not

it will still do it when you have it plugged in. My 94 and my 03 do the same thing

Normal man, you have working grid heaters. It should also stop doing it once you get above about 20 MPH.....
