Measurement's Dually vs. single wheel rear axle

Are the dually and single wheel rear axles different in width as far as WMS to WMS?

Also is there some sort of adapter or wheel spacer on the front axle to widen it out on a dually?

Im thinking of converting my truck to a dually and im gonna put a dump bed on and some 22.5 alcoas and tires. The thing i am wandering is what i need to convert the front and rear axles over to a dually setup cause i have a line on a nice flatbed for cheap and i want it for towing my rockcrawler.

I know its kinda crazy to convert a 2500 to a dually but i love my truck and i really dont want to have to deal with trying to find a new truck. Plus i want to design my own bed and everything.

Thanks for any info.

4x4's (and possibly the later 2wd's) used a bolton adapter up front. 2wds (atleast the earlier ones, front end was updated in 00) use a 1 piece adapter/rotor. Rear axles are different. Tried putting dually wheels on a 2500 D80, and the wheels and drums had interference issues. Need some spacers back there. My pick up DRW rear end is 79.5", if I remember right. I posted the specs a while ago between the front and rear. If you search my posts, I'm sure you'll find it.

I got some measurements from the axles I have access to. I would like to try and compile a list which we could post in the tech section. WMS dimensions are tough to get with wheels on the axles. These measurments can be used to make some general comparisons only.

1993 W350 DANA 70 DRW 60" from backing plate to backing plate.

1989 W250 DANA 60 SRW 53" from backing plate to backing plate.

So in this case the 1st gen dually axle is 7" wider (3.5" per side) then a SRW axle. Anyone else want to add to the list?

Also the front dually spacers are on ebay all the time.
