looking for KDP jig and help on PCM
anyone close to me have a KDP jig that i can use? I wll be happy to purchase or retun it after use. I do not know whether my engine has been repaired or not.
I am also going to have to wire in an external voltage regulator because I am contantly going into overvoltage (18 VOLTS) causing check engine light to come on (sometimes it will not charge at all).
My batteries are 6 mo old.
some times i have this too TCC lockup and instrument panel gage malfunctions (I lose the tach and speed control and air conditioning clutch). maybe making the TPS CPS adjustments will help, I can only hope
. can't really afford a new PCM at this time $500+
some times i can kill the engine and restart it and tcc and the like will be allright for a while.
I am going to have to replace my PS pump & I thought I might try messing with TPS and pull wires out of harness. Then clean up and adjust CPS.
i gained a lot of info reading the prior posts on these subjects.
thanks

With the symptoms you are describing, I would put my money on the Crank Sensor. The overvoltage, lost Tach, Cruise etc all seem to point to that. I would check that item before tangling with an external regulator.
An ECM is different than a PCM and not used on a 12 valve, cheaper too.
Due to the differences in programing on different years you may have to have the dealer program it. Not always a straight across swap part.

also sometimes when torque converter drops out, the tach fluctuates rapidly, from normal rpm to zero, the check engine, water in fuel, wait to start, and the trans temp lights all flash with the fluctations.
I am usually at hiway speeds when this occurs tach jumps from 1800 up to 2200
thaks all for you replies
