Lift pump primer leaking

I was working on my truck this weekend and I broke the banjo loose on the injection pump. When I was pumping the primer it started to leak a little bit. Needless to say I got a little worried. It does not leak any while it is running. Is this a big problem and do I have to replace the lift pump to fix it. I have only used the primer twice since I have owned the truck. Could the fuel system be getting air in it because of this.
Thanks,
Justin

Re:Lift pump primer leaking

See the post "no start this morning 1996 12v". While you truck is running, this post deals with the same problem of a leaking primer button/valve. The person who posted the topic was able to replace the o-rings that seal the primer button.

I would think that if it leaks while plunging (applying pressure), then it would leak under suction (or suck air). You won't see it leak during operation because it's "sucking" (for lack of a better term).

You could probably ask him what size the o-ring are, and if there are any tricks to changing them. Good luck, Kevin D.
