Leaks Leaks Leaks

Two questions on small leaks

1. The tube underneath the chassis that spits out oil, I think it's some sort of blow by or overflow. It shoots oil onto my front axle, not much, but enough to cover the axle pumpkin. I read that some people extend the tube and put a catch jar or something on the end. Is this what you guys do? How much oil coming out of it is normal?

2. I see a very slight leak at the back of my transfer case where it meets the drive shaft. It really is just wet with tranny fluid and it never drips down to the ground or sprays under the chassis. Is any amount of leak normal or does that mean a worn seal?

Thanks for any help

1- I'd leave the tube where it is, oil is good for your undercarriage. More than a couple of quarts every 5k is too much.

2- If it's just wet, leave it. Pretty unlikely it will "go out" and dump all your fluid. Could try a new seal if you want, but by now the yolk shaft is probably worn enough to weep even with a new seal. They are cheap and pretty easy to change if you want to try, and a good time to check/replace the t-case fluid.
