installing head studs ?

I want to install head studs in my truck along with an engine brake ; So I will need to install 60 lb valve springs also for the brake (correct). I thought if I could safely remove a head bolt and replace it with a stud and torque it to speck. Would this work ; Would it cause stress on the head and form a crack .
I would start and follow the torque sequence. would I just be asking for problems doing this. Do I really need to replace the head gasket to install head studs?

Yes you will need 60# exhaust springs for e-brake, I put studs in one at a time also never had a problem.
