installing head studs ?
installing head studs ?
I want to install head studs in my truck along with an engine brake ; So I will need to install 60 lb valve springs also for the brake (correct). I thought if I could safely remove a head bolt and replace it with a stud and torque it to speck. Would this work ; Would it cause stress on the head and form a crack .
I would start and follow the torque sequence. would I just be asking for problems doing this. Do I really need to replace the head gasket to install head studs?

Thanks for the info; I want to do both the springs and studs at once. Glad you had no issues and I can move forward with my exhaust brake and in box trans cooler. I will have a sweet fiver hauler lol.
