Injection pump leaking ?
Injection pump leaking ?
I seem to have a fuel leak, it seems to collect on the clamp on the return line about half way along the side of the pump, towards the block. doesn't seem to hurt performance but leaks a little fuel. It isn't leaking right at the return fitting for sure seems like further down the line. ???
Re:Injection pump leaking ?
I've had one develop a leak on the steel line you describe where the bolt down tab for the line is welded on. It eventually resulted in hard starting. The steel line isn't easy to remove, lots of stuff in the way. My solution was to cut the line in place a couple inches from the overflow valve on the injection pump, loosen the OF valve, aim the line towards the front and run 5/16'' hose almost to the tank. Takes about 12 feet for an Ex cab. Doing it this way also bypasses other potential leak sources I've run into, the steel line on top of the bell housing and the notorious rubber return line at the rear of the block. It also makes any future replacement very easy.
