Question Ignition switch

has any one had any problem with the switch, i put the key in to start the truck and it wount turn , if i fool with it for a few mins it will turn like nothing going on, its like i got the wrong key in it , it not doing it all the time , just now and then, may be one or two times every other week, is there some thing that can be done like using a bit of oil or ??????? , i have tryed both keys i have and when it wount turn , and one key i have nevered used untill now , i dont have a lot of keys on the key ring ( just truck and house, and the fop, i know over time to much keys on the ring will ware the lock out , just trying to see if i need to go get a new switch before it realy get to the point i cant start the truck???? thanks

I had to replace mine. I neded a Torx bit with a hole in the middle to do it. Then I found out it was covered under a recall so the dealer replaced it again. I don't know if the recall covers yours, mine is a '95, and the recall number is 875 - ignition switch and wiring. There are some sites to check which recalls apply to any vehicles. Try a search as I found the link to one here somewhere.

I don't think that the actual switch is covered...only the wiring. Perhaps JBody will chime in.
