head gaskets compared?

I have heard some good things about the 03 multi layer gasket(holding better?).

Does anyone know what the best holding gasket is to use on a 96 12v?

I know people sometime suggest the Marine gasket, thinking it is thincker(maybe it is?)
But remeber, it uses the entire LAKE to cool the engine, so does it really HOLD better?

I do KNOW that the dealership(who does not stock it) has different prices;
96 116.00
03 86.00

They can't answer the questions either..

THANKS!

The marine gasket is thicker than the OEM gasket in the truck, and will hold more boost.

So can anyone tell me off hand how much thicker the marine head gasket is compared to the stock head gasket?

Wouldn't a thicker head gasket lower the compression? I guess it doesn't matter when you have the high amounts of boost our engines have - or does it?
