Re:going to look at a 98 12V

Do not look at the truck,pm me and tell me the location where truck is at!! I will personaly go and check the truck out for you and get back to you at a later I mean right away!! Ha Ha As I have been searching for one of these within a veasible driving distance, and they are hard to find, joking aside, look at injection pump for mods, ask for maintanance details, look at what filters he has been using, get vin and dealer will pull up all recalls and I believe factory maintanace, drive it a long ways not just around the block, you can drive it to my house,Ha, goodluck they are really hard to find these models within all the states around me here in Oklahoma,as I really have been looking hard, goodluck Rick

Re:going to look at a 98 12V

this may be obvious...I would be leary about buying a used CTD if it didnt have a Fleetguard or Dodge oil filter on it.

A 98 12V SB is a rare find. Hope its good.....

Maintenance records are nothing but gold! I will pay more for a truck with full records!

If it drives good, oil and air filter is clean, and the steering is solid buy it! 8)

Re:going to look at a 98 12V

Have a close look at the passenger side of the timing case to see if it's been fixed with JB Weld or something. This will tell you if the KDP has come out and the guy patched it up to get rid of the truck. Look at it from underneath too as it's hard to see with the fan hub in the way. Any excessive oil leaking down this side is not good either. Good luck. Hope everything works out.

Re:going to look at a 98 12V

Well I drove it today and it looks to be in great shape no excessive oil or grease on the front of the engine and the only mods I could see were that the oil fill cap on the AFC had been opened and an adjustible boost elbow, the AFC hadnt been moved. I will know Monday if I get it and if so my current ride will be For Sale. Later and Thanks

Re:going to look at a 98 12V

Man you are killing me,smokingdodge, congaradulations! I got a lead on a 98 12v today in Missouri, got excited as the guy told me it had only 40k miles and was a quad cab,4wheel just like I am looking for and finally got a hold of the owner and it is a 97 no quad just extended,so you did find a good one, and a great color at that,You probably will not like it so give me a call and I will come and get it Goodluck Rick

Hey what a great truck. You should join my chapter. Only people with 98 12valves 4x4 5speeds are members. Did I mention I'm the only member?

Hey Kandgo thanks, but a 97 with only 40k sounds pretty nice.
