Funky shifting auto

ok so i know my TPS is on the way out, or needs a slight bit of adjustment......but the tranny still shifts odd from 1-2 2-1 I didnt think that was controlled by the TPS.

If I am headed up hill at say 35mph, OD locked out. TC locked up (by ecm, not switch) I give it a little more fuel. TC will unlock, it'll shift into 2nd for a second then it wil shift into 1st loose speed, then shift back to 2nd and then third again. Any thoughts?

also:

If I'm at a stop and have to get after it it get out into traffic, the truck will take off....wait slightly too long (looses power) then it will shift to 2nd for a split second then back down into first for a while then finally up through the gears.

If ny of you have any thoughts they would be most apreciated.

Thanks,
Travis

The cable running from the throttle linkage to the transmission, it "tells" the trans how much pedal you have in it so it adjusts internal pressure acordingly. Yours might be unhooked at the transmission or at the linkage at the inj pump....hopefully thats what you find.

My truck used to do the slow down before shifting thing too. That problem went away when I installed th 3000 RPM governer spring kit. It helped all of the shifting not only high RPM. I don't know if it will fix your problem but it fixed the problem with mine (after a TV cable adjustment, new TPS and throttle linkage adjustment).

I have a 3kgsk ready to go in.....its cold out so that will ahve to wait for a bit. I figured that would help the slowdown as I associated that with de-fueling. I'm just wondering why it feels the need to downshift all the way to 1st. I'll double check the TV cable.

Thanks,
Travis
