fuel problems

I have a 1997 dodge.Often after shutting the truck off it will not start. If I crack the injectors and bleed it it will start. Is there a backflow preventer . The truck runs perfect other than this.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU COULD BE GETTING AIR IN YOUR LINES CHECKALL OF THE FUEL LINES FOR DAMAGE AND SEE IF THEY ARE TIGHT

1st Gen is right. Be sure to pay close attention to the return line off of your pump. They are a known culprit for getting hair line cracks and getting brittle.

And remember that air will enter a line through a crack that is too small for fuel to leak out of.

Run your fingers along the rubber lines hidden behind the lift pump. Perhaps there will be some dampness.
Also, sometimes you cna see a bit of moisture on the starter.
george
