Fuel Heater
Fuel Heater
I bought the screen kit for the fuel heater and changed it out this weekend. Very easy thing to do, there was a little bit of sediment and crap in the bottom of the bowl but nothing really worrisome.I think i will just check it once a year based on what i found.
However one thing i did find was that the thermostat to control the heater had disintegrated, thus the heater hasn't been working at all.The thermostat is one of those button types that just sits in a pocket on top of the heater and is held in by two T-15 head screws. This would explain why it has been harder to start this fall in the cold. I found the part number for the harness on the 3d website. This harness includes the thermostat as part of the assembly and was about $50 at cummins.
This i will now be checking a few times a year.
Just thought you guys would like a heads up

Thanks for the info. I just messed around with my heater last week. Mine was the element. Can you provide a link to that website? I searched high and low, and no info came up on the part numbers I was using. Thanks
I made a mistake earlier , i actually got the numbers from dodegram.org
