Front brake caliper rattling?
Front brake caliper rattling?
I've had a rattle on the front end of my 96 4x4 2500 for the last year. Asked the tire guys to look at it when they rotated the tires, found nothing. The other day I realized it would quit when I stepped on the brakes. Took the tire off and it's loose, but the bolt is tight. Could the caliper bushing and bolt just be worn out and should I just go ahead and replace them?

Mine does the same on drivers side. There is a rubber boot around a bolt that should stop the rattle, however mine works it way out, always slide it back in b4 it falls off. Maybe the rubber boot was installed backwards. I think replacement will solve the problem, inspecting this rubber boot to ensure it wont slide off/out. I have been told it is not a safety issue, just irritating.
