Found something interesting in my parts bin.

For those of you who don't know what this is. It's a fly by wire Go pedal from a Mack truck. I saved it years ago from a warranty issue because I did not think anything was wrong with it. Figured I would make something with it. Picked it up today and noticed something. Do you see it?

Any way look at the TPS. Same mounting, same plug. The only difference is it mounts on the wrong side. I said to myself; self you may be on to a cheep source for TPS. Took it off and sure enough it was spring loaded the wrong way. However it had a screwdriver slot key. So the slight amount of spring pressure, the opposite way, would not matter. I installed it on my 94. Had to install it like the factory unit then turn it 90 degrees clockwise to load the internal spring. Took it for a test drive and it never shifted better. Now I need to get a part number and price from an aftermarket Mack vendor. Seems from memory that the whole pedal assy was under $100 so the TPS should be cheep.

Maybe you should sell it to Toyota.

It actually made a noticeable improvement in shift quality?

It raised my OD shift point and made it downshift when getting on the go pedal at 45-50 instead of lugging. No change on CL because that locks by speed after OD is in.

1,2,3 shifts are controlled by the KSB and governor. I have an RH tranny.
