diesel fuel smell in cab

I'm getting a "raw diesel" smell in the cab after acceleration, especially if I quickly get off the pedal.
I can find no fuel leaks anywhere so far. No leaks from pump to injectors.
Any ideas where to look?
Wife hates the odor.

The perfect air freshener!! Gets rid of the sweaty smell!! LOL!

I'd check the fuel return line at the rear of the head, drivers side. Then check the exhaust for leaks. Are you pulling a trailer when this happens? If so, it is a draft coming forward.

You might want to check if you still have the rubber strip that seals the hood to the body and well there should be about a 4" foam strip on either side of the rubber strip.

Also, you could get a 4" round rubber tailight grommet to seal up the hole that the scotty air filter fits into.

Reach up on top of the bell housing and see if it's wet with diesel. It's about the only place it can leak where you can't see it. I've come across several leaks in this area that have never dripped on the ground but stunk.

The odor is definitely unburnt (sweet smelling) diesel, not exhaust.
And its not continuous, it only shows up when I push the throttle down hard, and especially if I then let off the pedal quickly.
Doesn't matter if I have the trailer hooked up or not.
Yes, a good deodorizer, but my wife doesn't agree.
Bill - thanks for the pointer. will check there.

Hi,

Take a look on the top of the fuel tank where the fittings go into the pump assembly. Mine rusted through(return line)...although, this was also very evident in the fact that the rear of my truck was pretty well soaked in diesel (after a 200 mile 65 MPH drive).
Cheers,
Chris
