dana 80 carriers

Is the carrier for the 350 gears different than the 410 carrier. I know dana used to do this. Thanks Gary

Yes, the 4.10's use a different carrier.

I was afraid of that, all the other dana's I have fooled with broke ratio at around 3.70. That makes it more expensive, by the time you buy two carriers and two gear ratio sets it might be just as cheap to add an aftermarket add on overdrive. My buddy is running a 98 cab and chassic with a five speed and said it turns way to tight on out on the interstate. Ain't many ways to go with a dually as far as tall tires.

my buddie just used a 4.10 lsd carrier and put on a set of 3.55s in his truck[dana 80]. i belive the carrier break is 4.10 and down, and 4.56 and up. this was on dually dana 80's one 1994 model the other was a 97 model. the swapped between each other just fine.

Who sells gears for the dana 80, I looked in one gear supplier I use alot and they don't list any gear for the dana 80. What about the 60 in front, is the break on ratio size the same as the 80? Is the 80 like the rest of the dana's where you need a case spreader to get the carrier in and out and use shims behind the bearings to set them up.

On the 60 the break is between 4.10 and 4.56.
