CV joint
CV joint
I think I have a CV joint going bad on the front drivers side. It's clicking when I turn. That tire has been wearing out after about 2000 miles. Gone through 2 so far, on the 3rd one. Would a bad CV joint do this?
You don't have CV joints on your front axle (there is a double u-joint "CV"joint in the front driveshaft, though).
How is the tire wearing... no tire should wear out in 2000 miles. I can't see a u-joint doing that, you need to figure out what is loose down there, or what is way out of alignment.

Nope. You need an alignment. The clicking is probably either the u-joint on the axle (they don't have cv's) or the untized bearing assembly.
Print this out http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/00_steer_specs.html and take it with you to have your alingment done, ask them to set it to these specs, and aask for a print out when they are done to make sure they did it rite.

OK thanks. The tire wears out in the center then develops a flat spot. It's real odd. I have never seen a tire flat spot with out doing some serious brake lockup and I didn't lock up the brakes on either tires that wore out and they both did the same thing.
