Converting an EGR engine to federal

I've got a 1997 12 V Cummins engine with an EGR valve. I want to install some power mods but most aren't for use with an EGR engine. What is required to get rid of the EGR? I've heard that some can just be blanked off and some require a new manifold. Either way I don't know what to do with the sensor line comming off the valve. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The EGR can be blocked, and the wire disconnected.

Go to cummins and buy a intake for a 95 5.9. Remove the crossover tube and cap off the manifold. Then bomb away!

Thanks for the advice, I knew that I couldn't be the only one to have this problem.

The non-egr intake is cheaper than you would think, like in the mid $40s if I recall.
