axle is shifted to the left

today I had my front end off the ground and noticed the whole front end was shifted to the drivers side. every thing is tight and I couldn't rock the axle housing at all. I noticed it by the sway bar things all cocked over. what could be wrong?

The track bar is what controls lateral movement of the front axle. It could be worn or possibly even bent. Does your truck have any kind of lift? Lifting the front end without installing a longer track bar will also cause the axle to shift to the left. The higher the lift, the more the axle shifts left.

If the front wheels were off the ground (i.e., the suspension was at full "droop"), the Panhard (track) bar will pull the axle to the driver's side as the axle drops from its normal design ride height. A lift kit does the same thing if no correction to the Panhard bar is made.

the truck had the lift when I bought it. so I'm not sure if a longer track bar was installed. I have noticed the drivers side of the truck always got more muddy then the other, so that would indicate the axle being shifted when at normal ride height. so a thuren track bar is the answer huh?
