Auto trans question
Auto trans question
My truck feels like I am gently pumping the brakes when I let off of the throttle. It will not do this if I lock out OD. I recently changed the trans fluid & filter, found sludge around the magnet & some aluminum shavings in the pan. Oil did not look or smell bad. Also it will shift in and out of OD when I try to cruse around 45 to 50 MPH. Doesn't do it above or below that speed range. Any ideas?

hi
that is app the speed the convertor goes into lock up .
dropping and rasing speed at that point will cause the condition you describe .
a tps adjustment may help some.
do you have a lock up / od switch ? i uasualy lock out od below 47 mph to prevent this , and save the convertor !

No lockup converter in his 92.
A cleaning and an adjustment should help.
You could always put a switch in to override the overdrive so it won't drop out of overdrive when you let off the throttle.
This is in the wrong section, should be in the 1st gen section.
