had intermittant converter lockup on way home from work.Next morning on way to Trans shop, lost lockup completely. They replaced the TPS and lockup solenoid and sent me down the road. Was great for 40 miles, then had intermittant OD.Took it back and they finally got it to duplicate the problem after letting it idle for 2 hours to get it real hot..now they say bad OD relay in trans.....My point..should I be looking at a bigger picture? has anyone else had this happen?..by the way...78000 mi. Any help or comments greatly appreciated. Still don't have the truck back.
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...threadid=42649 Read this thread thru, and I also had to take my tps wires out of the factory wiring harness from the tps to the pcm to solve all my problems. Let us know, Goodluck,,,,Rick
Thanx Rick,as soon as I get it back I will do this with the wires, since I am already starting out with a brand new 190 dollar tps. Will write back with results. Was hoping it wasn't a major wiring problem.<><
I go back to whomever put the new tps in and atleast get it back as it can most likley be cleaned and kept as spare, and what about them repairing it correctly?? The tps wires are not a so called wireing problem that just tend to pickup disturbances and are better off in thier own protective sleeve. Goodluck, and let us know what comes of it, Rick
