do you have a set of gauges to check the pressures? normally when an ac system goes to crap it is because it has a leak or has air in it. did you check the evaportor connection under the dash for leaks. they are known for leaking. is it just not cold now or as cold as it was before?

Collapsed hose, deteriorated filter/dryer, orifice clogged - all culprits. You need gauges to see if you are pulling vacuum on the suction line (lo side) or overpressuring the high side. Feel for a colder-than-normal component - that is usually a sign of a blockage at that point. Pump could be wore out but that will show in the pressure readings.

Not an expert but I have seen alot of crazy stuff over the years.

i have an a/c machine at work that i can use and it has gauges, also i can put more die through it. The one thing i dont understand though is all the components outside the truck are ice cold and condensation forms imediately, and it does have pressure in it still. How would i go about checking the orafice tubes and or evaporator dryer... im not an expert on these things yet but i have the general concept... We get the full lesson this year at school so if i dont get it now over the summer there is our project for the schopol year.
