I think all it does is lmit smoke when you run higher HP. that means when you put your foot to the floor you don't get as mich smoke.<br>Aaron

Re:AFC spring kit

The afc controls (holds back/regulates) fueling until boost level comes up to support a clean burn. This is why you have the power/turbo lag if you goose the go pedal from idle. The afc has a small boost line connected that feeds pressure to the unit. The afc spring setting controls the boost point at where it allows power fueling to take place. In stock form you will have the lag and no smoke. Reduce the spring setting and you will have quicker acceleration and smoke. Amount of smoke will depend on spring tension and applied throttle/fueling. The afc adjustments applies to both stock and after market plates.

The spring kit is recommended for certain size fuel plates to aid in tuning afc to desired level. My TST #8 is doing ok without the optional kit.

Re:AFC spring kit

Ditto. The kit is really for when your stock spring no longer allows the adjustment you're looking for. No problem for me with stock spring and #6 plate.

Re:AFC spring kit

Unless the AFC kit has gotten real pricey, I would do it when you do the plate because you already have the housing off. No need to pull it again if you happen to need it.

Re:AFC spring kit

The 215 HP engines use a very stiff AFC spring. It may take 34+ Lbs of boost to get the AFC arm fully forward. I would get the spring kit for this application.
