afc plastic hose boost line?

I searched this and I found everything but this.

The line I am talking about is the line from the head to the afc.

What my question is if I take the line off the afc housing and block it will that be like gutting the afc since it will not be moving anything just like a gutted afc housing?

The reason I am asking is I want to see what a gutted afc housing is like before I do it so if I don't like it then it would be easier to do then gutting it and putting it back together.

thanks

That would be like a permanent valet mode. Gutting the AFC isn't a big job, 15 minutes tops. Take the AFC off the truck, remove the small screw on the front, pull the pin out, the foot will fall out, reinstall the pin and screw, and reinstall the AFC. It would be comparable to running the AFC full forward, starwheel completely loose with the smoke screw run full in.

I ran a gutted AFC for about a year on my 24v, its much nicer when the AFC is properly tuned.

So why did you run it with it gutted if it runs better with it tuned?

I do have my starwheel as loose as it can ( full fuel) get with afc housing ff with no plate.

I wonder if I will gain anything by getting rid of the foot and arm?

Here is another question if I gut the afc do I need the line hooked up then?

I did that because I didn't have a signal line to the AFC yet, and I didn't want to run in valet until I did it.

If you gut it, it doesn't matter if the line is connected or not, it won't hurt anything either way.

update....... not good.....

Well I gutted the afc. Well guys for the ones that already know this. It is better to leave it in.

1. more smoke at bottom end.
2. less power off the line.
3. mpg will go down..lol
4. even at mid throttle I did notice a little more smoke.

So all in all lesson learned it is better to keep it in if you want more off the line.

I do understand about the 6psi thing. Once it hit there it was off. So now I guess I will have to tune the afc a bit so I can get more of the line.

I am probably going to take a vid of me taking off so anyone that is interested in the future can see it.
