Afc mod question.

So I have been reading up on Afc mods and was gonna do mine today than I found a thread stating that a 215 pump is a waste of time to mod Afc that it does'nt make any difference. Is this true??

I don't know 100% for sure, but I highly doubt it. It operates the same as the 180 pump. The differences between the two are pretty minor as far as I know, so the mod should be the same and do the same...

The spring in the 215 pump his strong and trimming the AFC stop for full travel lets you use the plates full depth, especially at full forward position. Without a dyno test before and after, I can't say for sure how much of a difference it made for me. Having the softer spring and trimming the stop made the AFC actually go from full retracted to totally behind the plate profile.

The upgrading to the Mack plug for rack travel does not work with the 215 pump and will actually cause a reduction of WOT fuel.

The lower helix doesn't regress like that. More rack travel still equals more fuel. But due to the upper helix, more rack travel also means less timing.

You can, depends how often you use the throttle. If DD, I'd leave it lower. You're not at enough rack travel to retard it much at highway speeds. If it were a racer/puller, absolutely bump it up. Just make sure the head is buttoned down first.
