96 Ram Cummins Tranny Problem Shifting
I recently had to have the power steering pump and hoses replaced. Went smoothly however the under side was power washed due to all the steering fluid build up. Now for some reason when you pull the shift lever into "D" it doesn't know where it is. Pull it down further and it might find a gear to go into but maybe not the gear you want. ANY IDEAS????
What does the gear-indicator in the cluster show? Can you give more details about what you experience when you say "it doesn't know where it is"? If you think you have it in reverse, what is it doing? How about Drive/OD? 3rd? etc
I would wonder about an issue with the trans connector
