500 H.P.

I PLAN ON PUTTING A PDR HX 40 TURBO, A SET OF 370 INJECTORS, 191 DELIVERY VAVLES, A # 10 PLATE SLID FOWARD AND WITH A FULLY TURNED IN AFC WHEEL WILL I GET 500 H.P AND WILL EGTS BE OUT OF CONTROL

Re:500 H.P.

Yes your egts are going to get up there fast. The delivery valves are bad about egts and the 370's wont help either. You have to get more air into the motor. Put in a cam that will help, but that set up is EGT sensative.

Re:500 H.P.

You will need to have your pump put on a test bench. Rack travel needs to be adjusted. The fuel flow out of the barrels needs to be calibrated.

What pump do you have? You can get close with a small pump but it is tough.

Don~

You'll probably be good for about 400 RWHP for sure.. EGT's will be a function of your pump calibration and timing as well.

I have my doubts about 500...

J-eh

I dynoed 403 with the stock turbo. EGT's were pretty fast and hot.
Michael

HOW MUCH WILL A MARINE CAM LOWER EGT 'S AND IS THAT THE BEST CAM TO GO WILL OR ARE THERE OTHER CAMS THAT ARE BETTER AND ABOUT HOW MUCH DO THEY COST

www.enterpriseengine.com prolly has done more with cams for longer than anyone else at this point.
I don't think a cam is agood investment of BOMB money at your point.

Re:500 H.P.

I wouldn't take the head off JUST to port it, if it was off for another reason, yea, sure, clean it up, but don't take too much, it will weaken it.
I would work on getting large volumes of cool air to the turbo,at that point. Bump the timing to 16.

With that set up, the only palce he would dyno 500, is Vegas, or Texas.

Re:500 H.P.

I've been working the last couple of days in a heavy duty diesel repair shop and the owner who has been a western canadian cummins dealer for years told me of an upgrade to 700hp. he'd have to tell you the details himself but... because I'm doing him a favour by wiring a genset for him he is upgrading my 95 dually by installing a new tubo housing and if you can help me with this he told me that he will be installing a "cam plate" in the injector pump. What does that do? I have basic knowledge of how these bosch pumps work but can you help me out?

Re:500 H.P.

yomitch, make sure you install gauges before you put in the cam plate. If the owner of the shop tells you that gauges are not required, smile, thank him for his time and go see Noel at Newport Auto in Squamish.

The cam plate establishes the fuel rack position at full load. Aftermarket cam plates allow the rack to travel further thus increase the volume of fuel delivered to each injector.
Marc
