215hp Pump?

3 days and counting, till I have 2 full days to visit family and look for my beast. Is it best to find one with a 215hp IP? or can I achieve the same results with a TST Power Kit, and a smaller IP?

With plates and money

any pump you get will be fine, the central reason why the 215 is perfered is the horsepower rating, the pump will handle 500 rwhp no problem. If im not mistaken it also has the larger Delivery valves, but dont quote me on that.. Best of luck in your search..... Again i say with money you can do almost anything with these 12V's

Tx

215 pump has the 181 dv's. You can make up for the smaller pump but it will cost you a bit more. If you are looking for 400 hp or so the smaller pumps will not be as big of a factor.

More hp = more $. All depends on what you can find and what you want out of it.

The 96-98.4s are out there...I've been looking for a couple years because of my tight budget. And pickyness. I paid 10,500 for mine and had to travel to Minnesota to pick it up. But it has what I want, 5sp, 4wd, extended cab. If I lived near Texas I would be in good shape, that state is like cummins king! Either way, good luck on finding one. I would not trade mine for anything right now getting 22mpg and having some insane torque sure is sweet!

a 96-98.4 5 speed truck will have the 215. The data plate on the timing cover will also say 215 hp rating.

so as long as its not a CA truck, i shouldnt have to worry. BTW, while im at it. Is there an easy way to spot a 3.54 gear truck? I wont waste my time with a 4.10 truck, so that way i can spot one instead of sliding under the truck. all interstate running for me, 3.54 is perfect.

Texas does have alot of CTD but mostly 24v. I would say about 80% are 24v and mabey 20% are 12v. I would love to have a 12v but there so **** hard to find.

I have one

south texas, they are usually not a dime a dozen in the used car lots when they actually have them, there is a really good used car dealer here that specifically can get 12V's for a client, provided that time is given. Like anything else, look long enough and ull find wht you are lookin for..

Drive it and look at the TACH. OD @ 2000 RPM should be around 70. Remember the 5 speed only has a 25% od instead of the 31% in the autos.
