1995 12 valve CTD block heater removal??
is there a trick to removing block heater on a 1995 dodge ram cummins 12 valve I have removed bolt in center and have pulled on unit but only comes out about 1/8" and I have tried prying on lip at same time with no success.
thank you

Uh-Oh
The construction of the block heater is this: The metal plug you're pulling on has an o-ring groove cut in it. There's an o-ring in there, of course, to seal the hole. The plug is corroded to the block. That's why it's hard to remove. I'm guessing you're taking it out cause it's not working? If so, you can get rough with it. Yard that sucker outta there. Now the uh-oh part: The bolt in the center screws into a t-nut behind. When you took it all the way out, the t-nut fell down in the block. You will probably get it out with a magnet. Let's hope it's easy! ;D
