12V injector pump options?

So Im looking to upgrade my pump a bit. My modded 160 just doesnt cut it. Id probably be happy with a 215 with those mods but it looks like the prices on reman 215's are almost as much as a II dragonfly pump which is like 1600$. A pump like that would probably kill my head gasket unless I pulled the cam plate all the way back.
Anyone spotted deals on stock or used 215's, or should I just bite the bullet and spend the 1600? my idle lopes a little so Im pretty sure this pump I have is getting tired anyhow
Im also replacing the injectors with something like DDP2's to keep the mileage good

My Brothers Truck Is A 97 2500. Corrct Me If Im Wrong, But I Think It Is A 180 Pump. Anyway, We Set His Timing At 18* No Fuel Plate, Govener Lever Disabled, Full Cut Delivery Valves, 5000k Gov. Springs And 300 Marine Injectors Works Pretty Darn Good. We Daily Drive It, Sled Pull, And Haul My Truck To The Pulls On The Gooseneck. It Can Get Smokey And Hot Egts, But Still Works Good. I Should Also Add That We Had A J.r. Adkins Little 55 That At Our Little Hometown Pull, Managed To Grenade The Compressor Wheel. Boost Guage Was Pegged At 60lbs. The Good News Was The 480 Dollar Head Job, 400 Dollar 12mm Studs And 100 Dollar 90 Thou. Head Gasket Held Up Excelant. Stock Turbo Back On And 45 Lbs Boost Pretty Much Every Time He Shifts. Still holden tight but check stud torque once a month for good measure.

Bring your 160 to Scott and let him turn it up for ya. He has access to a pump stand. That would be cheaper than getting another one. Otherwise, just replace it with the likes of a Dragon Fly.

You can get MORE fuel out of a 160 than a 215.

While its true you can get the smaller pumps to flow a bit more fuel by gutting them than the 215 pumps you loose streetability (if there is such a thing for a 12v) The reason the 215 pumps draw a crowd is their ability to put out plenty of fuel and still retain some manners. You need to decide where you want to go with the truck for power and what you want to do with it. Sounds like the power level you want to go to doesn't require the extra expense of a 215 pump but it would do it with more manners at equal hp levels Just my $.02

Its actually Scott that was steering me to the dragonfly pump versus modding this one more. Its tired and Id probably do better with a modded replacement or a used stock pump.

Do a search. The info is out there.
I know I have read a few times that 160/180 pump is easier and more tuneable for the street.
Also, do some searching on Competition diesel.

Never used them. People on here like them.
I wouldnt buy anything from them personally. They tell everyone that their stage2 injectors are some custom made jobs.
In all reality they are just selling Bosch Marine 300s to everyone.

I havent heard of to much good with the pumps they have. People on Comp. diesel say to stay away from them.

If you want just a stock 215 pump, either pennsacola is cheap, I personally didn't get a real good feeling about pennsacola when I call about some injectors.

Or usdiesel cost a little more, but I would trust them more than pennsacola.

I would check out some of the bigger more experienced builders.
Columbus diesel, Poncis diesel, Scheid, Garmon diesel, Harts diesel, Buddha Power to name a few.
All of these builders stand behind there product.

I would find who is the closest to you and go with them.
