1000 RPM squeeking?
1000 RPM squeeking?
Rolling down the road at just about idle, somewhere in the 20 mph range, if I give enough throttle to hold 1000 or so RPM, the truck makes this awful squeeking sound that sounds like a rolling wheel bearing about to go out completely. Let off the throttle or give it more throttle and it goes away. Any ideas as to what this may be? Driving me nuts and I cannot locate the problem because it only happens when the truck is rolling and I am away from home with no help right now. Thanks
Well I did think it was a bearing at first because it had that rotational squeek you know, like you could hear it going round and round. The thing was that when you let off the throttle it would stop squeeking even though the truck was still rolling. I got under there and discovered my exhaust needs some sprucing up. When it was straight piped some of the hangers were eliminated and it left room for play and it squeeks. Nothing some stacks wont take care of!
