Average life of a p pump

Just want some suggestions, How many miles will a p pump last before it needs repaired or rebuilt? I have one sitting on the shelf with around 280k should it still be in good shape or not?
Thanks
Josh

Eh, it's still probably good. Might want to start looking into rebuilding it in the next 900k miles or so though...

You guys are really starting to upset some of us VP44 guys. Some of us get change them out more often thatn we change our oil..

I would say throw the pump in, run a tank of fuel will a good additive, and she will for for many many more miles!!

If you don't know the history of this pump I'd go for a check on a pump test stand. It may be off calibration. Normally they do almost live forever, but they get out of adjustment.
