Need opinions on the better truck/buy
I'm looking at a 2011 mega with 91000 at 35k or 2012 with 94000 at 38k
or 2013 with 13000 at 49k... All equipped about the same all in xlent condition.. Neither will be a daily driver,,,between road trips or hauling animals or hay short distances is my planned usage. The 13 is at a dealer, all three are 1 owner.....13 is equipped little nicer but 49k is hard to swallow for a pleasure truck..I appreciate any advice on either or all 3.

If you plan to haul, I'd opt for long bed as first rule. It just keeps all options open for you.
The 4th Gen crew cab interiors are far larger than my 3rd Gen quad cab. Didn't realize that at first and glad I got off my stickler about getting a mega.
Now, the older trucks have their issues... steering, EGR/DPF, etc. I've also read where 13s and that gen (using radius arm suspension versus 4 link up front) have also had death wobble and whatnot. You'll also have to deal with DEF and possible problems with that extra system.
They're kind of a toss up, really, as to which to get in my book. I'd go with the one you actually like most and you can pleasure cruise in for the longest time. The money is a bit on the ouch side, but you will can negotiate and mitigate that a bit.

Thanks Thump,
I found a 06 mega with 134k for 21k,, I'm going to seek more info as its at a dealer...otherwise, I'm leaning towards the 11,,,i don't need the longhorn package, the 13 has so many features it seems impossible to have them all functioning always....but it was a dream to drive...

Go for the 2012.. unless you need the GVWR of the 2013 but don't get the Aisin or the 8.4 Uconnect if you go for the 2013. The 2012 has a better trailer brake controller than the junk in the 2011 and parts are readily available for the 68RFE transmission in both the 2011/12.

I'd go for the '13 for the better MPGs and resale. With only 13k on the clock it's really 5-years worth of miles newer. But, that's way too high on the price. You can get a brand-new 2016 SLT for that much this time of year. A full warranty is worth going new for that kind of coin. I only paid $38k for my 2015 SLT last summer.
