ABS/Brake light
Ok fellas, I have searched this site and posted on this very subject here. But this truck needs an inspection and I don't think that it will pass with these issues. My ABS light is on, my park break light is on, the only code that I get with the key trick is P0500. I have replaced the rear diff sensor. both front wheel bearings have been replaced a couple of years ago, but the truck has only about 10,000km on since being replaced. I have seen that this is a common issue from searching but was unable to find were anyone had figured out how to fix this. someone must know what this issue is!! thanks fellas and lets hope the right guy reads this and gets me straightened out.

I had this happen to me a while back when a front brake pad separated from its backing and fell down toward the axle. I also had to push the button under the cap on the ABS unit to reset on another occasion. Probably isn't your problem but maybe it will help.

Are the brake lights staying on? Does the cruise control work? There's a plastic switch for the brake pedal which can cause the ABS/Brake light to come on and all the other things too if it fails.

Check the switch on the brake pedal. Mine had the same issue. I changed the pumpkin sensor, redid the brakes and was about to replace the ABS unit ($$$$$$$) when I looked under the dash for something else and saw that I must have kicked the switch and pulled it off to one side.
It's a little work to set up the new switch. It comes with a travel lock on it. Once installed make sure the brake pedal is all the way up and remove the travel brace. The plunger will set against the pedal and be adjusted correctly. If you do it any other way you have a better than good chance of mis-aligning it and foolong the ABS module into thinking the brake pedal is depressed. That was what was setting off my ABS/Brake light.
