I'm a Gasser but here is the setup Tach on column via 5" hose clamp. Others on 1/2" angle aluminum cantilevered over the bottom of the dash using the glove box screws to anchor it.

I don't see any custom gauges here yet so I thought I would show my 94. I took some cheep gauges and ripped them apart. I took some alum. and made the mounting plate and face plate. Then painted it and covered it with clear plastic. Had to cut some of the bezel where the useless drink holder was to clear the gauge cluster. I have a new bezel I need to fit but I figured I would try it with an old bezel in case it did not work out. As you can see it did. Sorry about the glare. It is very nice and sunny today.
In case anyone is wondering about the switches. The red one is a push button converter lock switch and the toggle is a CL inhibit switch. The ash tray contains a 80GB drive. That will be the next custom project.
