best quality head gasket?

Well I guess OReillys give me the "bad" Felpro HG. I didn't know there were different ones. That's good to know that they offer a better one, like I said that is the only bad experience I've had with Felpro. The ones I've used in gassers usually work fine.

Changing (skewing) the subject a bit. I got given a Victor Reinz engine set. I've used the front seal and timing gaskets out of it to do a KDP delete. What kind of a reputation do they have for head gaskets?

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about the newer felpro gasket. The old felpro was a super s***ty design that had super pathetic fire rings. The new design has fire rings identical to the cummins gasket.
Fel pro should just completely remove the old design gasket from all their catalogs and bury the part number. It's a horrible gasket

Victor Reinz is Mahle's aftermarket brand. I got the impression that it should have been the same as OE Cummins after getting the impression that Mahle was the OEM.
I'll be putting one in my 1st gen as soon as it shows up. I guess we will see. The gasket I took out doesn't have the orange tracing around the water ports like the new ones show. I had a water leak in the front pass side below the thermostat.
