Passenger side air bag

I'm gonna replace the dash soon and was wondering how to remove the cover on the pass air bag. I tried once and was afraid i'd break it. how does it come off?

Here ya go! Hope this is what you were looking for.

PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MODULE
WARNING:

THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS A SENSITIVE, COMPLEX ELECTROMECHANICAL UNIT. BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DIAGNOSE OR SERVICE ANY AIRBAG SYSTEM OR RELATED STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENTS YOU MUST FIRST DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE. THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE FURTHER SYSTEM SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO DO THIS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

WHEN REMOVING A DEPLOYED AIRBAG MODULE, RUBBER GLOVES, EYE PROTECTION, AND A LONG-SLEEVED SHIRT SHOULD BE WORN. THERE MAY BE DEPOSITS ON THE AIRBAG MODULE AND OTHER INTERIOR SURFACES. IN LARGE DOSES, THESE DEPOSITS MAY CAUSE IRRITATION TO THE SKIN AND EYES.

THE PANEL OUTLET BARRELS INSTALLED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOOR PANEL OUTLET HOUSINGS MUST NEVER BE REINSTALLED FOLLOWING REMOVAL FOR ANY REASON. THEY MUST BE REPLACED WITH NEW BARRELS. REFER TO DUCTS AND OUTLETS IN THE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION SECTION OF GROUP 24 - HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING FOR THE SERVICE PROCEDURES. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN OCCUPANT INJURIES UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

REMOVAL
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. If either of the airbags has not been deployed, wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before further service.
Remove the glove box from the instrument panel. Refer to Glove Box in the Removal and Installation section of Instrument Panel Systems for the procedures.
Remove the glove box opening upper trim strip from the instrument panel. Refer to Glove Box Opening Upper Trim Strip in the Removal and Installation section of Instrument Panel Systems for the procedures.
Remove the four screws that secure the two plastic support brackets of the passenger side airbag door panel outlet housing to the glove box opening upper reinforcement.
Reach through and above the glove box opening to access and disconnect the passenger side airbag module wire harness connector from the instrument panel wire harness Passenger Side Airbag Module Wire Harness Connector
Remove the two screws that secure the passenger side airbag module front bracket to the instrument panel structural support Passenger Side Airbag Module Remove/Install
Remove the three screws that secure the passenger side airbag module rear bracket to the glove box opening upper reinforcement.
Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool and starting at the lower left edge, gently pry the passenger side airbag door away from the instrument panel far enough to disengage the five molded tabs and snap retainers securing it to the receptacles in the instrument panel top cover Passenger Side Airbag Door Disengage
Remove the passenger side airbag module, the airbag door and the panel outlet housing and barrel assembly from the instrument panel as a unit.
INSTALLATION
WARNING:

USE EXTREME CARE TO PREVENT ANY FOREIGN MATERIAL FROM ENTERING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MODULE, OR BECOMING ENTRAPPED BETWEEN THE AIRBAG CUSHION AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOOR. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN OCCUPANT INJURIES UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOOR MUST NEVER BE PAINTED. REPLACEMENT INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLIES AND TOP COVERS ARE SERVICED IN THE ORIGINAL COLORS. PAINT MAY CHANGE THE WAY IN WHICH THE MATERIAL OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOOR RESPONDS TO AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS WARNING COULD RESULT IN OCCUPANT INJURIES UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

Carefully inspect the five receptacle slots in the passenger side airbag door opening of the instrument panel top cover. Remove any of the small metal airbag door snap retainers that did not remain on the molded airbag door tabs during the removal procedure.
If the removed passenger side airbag module is being reinstalled, reinstall the metal snap retainers recovered in Step 1 on the proper airbag door tabs. Each of the five molded airbag door tabs must have a snap retainer on it before it is installed in the instrument panel. New replacement passenger side airbag modules come with new airbag door snap retainers installed.
Carefully position the passenger side airbag module in the instrument panel.
Align the five tabs and retainers on the upper edge of the passenger side airbag door with the receptacles in the instrument panel top cover.
Press firmly on the passenger side airbag door over each of the passenger side airbag door tab and retainer locations until each of them is fully engaged in its receptacle. Be certain that each of the metal snap retainers is in position on the airbag door tabs and that the tabs are fully engaged in the receptacles.
Install and tighten the five screws that secure the passenger side airbag module front and rear mounting brackets to the instrument panel. Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.)
Install and tighten the four screws that secure the two plastic support brackets of the passenger side airbag door panel outlet housing to the glove box opening upper reinforcement. Tighten the screws to 2.2 N·m (20 in. lbs.)
Reach through and above the glove box opening to access and reconnect the passenger side airbag module wire harness connector to the instrument panel wire harness. Be certain that the passenger side airbag module wire harness connector is fully engaged with and latched to the instrument panel wire harness connector.
Install the glove box opening upper trim strip onto the instrument panel. Refer to Glove Box Opening Upper Trim Strip in the Removal and Installation section of Instrument Panel Systems for the procedures.
Install the glove box onto the instrument panel. Refer to Glove Box in the Removal and Installation section of Instrument Panel Systems for the procedures.
Do not reconnect the battery negative cable at this time. Refer to Airbag System in the Diagnosis and Testing section of this group for the proper procedures.

The new dash wont come with the airbag. You can leave it in and remove it after the dash is out, or do it first. Whatever trips your trigger! LOL
