Stirring The Pot

ok guys this post is for a buddy of mine im happy with my smarty s06 BUT he had the smarty junior on his truck liked it but timing rattle was a little much. He is looking for adjustability on the fly is the main thing. Its an 07 5.9l automatic...he wants something reliable to pull boat and quads with without worrying about tranny. We hear all this talk about edge ruining injectors, banks being to safe, and than theres bullydog, quad supposedly coming out with adrenaline for us 3rd gen guys also....any input would be appreciate what do you all reccomend or whats the pros and cons of the products out?

For what you get and how much you pay Quad products are excellent. Plus you get great support.

Which is not adjustable on the fly.

Sheesh! You guys don't listen very well. He wants an answer to his question, not a bunch of info that doesn't apply.

There is no way on an 04.5 and up truck that the Edge Juice can ruin injectors because it does not do pressure. I like mine and it makes a lot of power, but it does run hot. I don't know anything about the Bully Dog. I have a buddy that likes his Quad a lot and I believe it runs a little cooler than the Juice, but I don't believe it makes as much power either.

My Quad X2 runs great on my '06. You need to keep an eye on EGTs while mashing the throttle for extended periods, but it runs hard!

oh ok i imagine the posts i was reading about injector failures is pre 04.5...thanks for the info and clearing that up. he has a 6" afe and strait 5" exhaust. does quad have same defueling as everyone else...i guess its narrowed down now to quad x2/new adrenaline and edge. did earlier year edge products wear injectors due to pressure? the new box must just be timing duration huh

On the 305/555 motors the Juice does pressure. I didn't think it was enough to hurt injectors and wonder if the failures haven't been from people stacking more pressure on top.

Ive had a TST, Attitude, and X2, and if he isnt looking to go crazy i would suggest the Attitude simply because it has gauges built in and is a nice combo of power and driveability. X2 is very similar power wise but not all the gauges. TST gives big power, but on my truck without pressure it wasnt fun to drive.
