Well I got the new gasket in today took me about 7 hours and only had 1 little snafu, I strecthed 1 head bolt tryin to go to 140ft-lbs other than that it went pretty smooth

A buddy of mine turnin some wrenches

looks like I need some thinner injector washers or back the timing off a little

We never made it to 140 I was at 130 and was starting my torque sequence again and stretched the #1 bolt so we left em at 130, good thing I had an extra set of bolts

It was at 130 before

But I ran all summer blowing 55 psi at it sled pulling and screwin around

I don't know if it was a defective bolt or what I've heard of people torquing them to 150

There is a big difference between a good bolt and a bad bolt when you do the drop test

Good bolt= very high pitched ring
Bad bolt=dull thunk

Your not alone, I just got done doing my '93.

That top-end gasket kit is $213 as of friday night.

I was bummed to see the HG says "made in china" right on it.

They cheapened up the horseshoe washers, too. Ended up using some old ones to get it sealed back up. The new ones are visibly thinner and not the good old copper color.

All this straight out of the 4089649 box.
