2007 remote door lock horn chirp

I am trying to disable the horn chirp when I use the remote door lock. I followed the manual exactly and it did not work. I tested the horn chrip after each attempt and it's still there. Does anyone with a 2007 have any advice?

For some reason, the method described in the owner's manual doesn't work on the `07's. The dealer can do it for you - should be free of charge (mine was).

If you have the overhead computer, you have to disable it from there. I tried
for two days doing it through the key fobb until I read a little more in the
manual. It has a bunch of other settings also like auto door lock, un-lock on
exit, etc.
Good Luck

I have the overhead computer on my 07 6.7 and the manual gave a good explanation about turning that off along with a number of other features. One thing I didn't see there is the ability to turn off the "Panic" feature on the key. I had some how turned that on twice so far. This truck has a really good horn on it! This was an easy fix though in the key.

Thanks for the help. I would like to to do it myself because it's not convenient to go to the dealer. I read the manual and it does not explain how to disable this feature in the overhead console section. Can someone tell me what page to read in the manual? It can't be that difficult. I must be an idiot!

On my 2007 6.7 this is located in section 3 of the owners manuel. Start on page 150 for info on the overhead console with (EVIC) On page 153 it gets into "Personal Settings" On page 154 it gets into "Sound Horn With Lock--Yes---No"
I hope this helps.

I have the 5.9L and my manual must be different than yours. There is nothing about personal settings with the overhead console. Can you tell me the procedure? Send me a PM if this is getting too drawn out. Thanks.

I have a 2007 5.9L and cannot find the information on programming the overhead computer in my owners manual. Perhaps this is a feature availble for the 6.7L engine only.

I have tried everything short of returning to the dealer to get the horn chirp turned off. Nothing I have found works.

If you care to post the information from the 2007 6.7L owners manual, I would love to give it a try on my truck.

There likely is a difference in the 5.9 and the 6.7 so the procedure probably won't work, but I have scanned the pages about this if you want them. I don't know how to post pictures here. I could email them to you or maybe someone could voulenteer to post them.

I tried over and over to get mine to stop honking on door lock, all it did was p*ss the neighbors off. finally took it to the dealer, took them about ten minutes with thier scan tool.

I called the service manager at the local dealer and he said the techs use the scan tool to disable the horn chirp. I asked him if you could do it with the key FOB and he said he wasn't sure. I'm going to wait to see if anyone else posts a solution.

You might be able to get somewhere with using the 6.7 procedure on the 2007 5.9. They made a change about midway through 2006 with the computers and such. This is the reason so many box manufacturers such as TST are having trouble with trucks built after about the middle of 2006.

Also if you have a 2007 5.9 take a look in your fuse box. There is a lot of stuff in there that is associated with the 6.7. One I remember right off is the fuse for the VGT turbo. My 5.9 has this and some other stuff, but no VGT!

Thanks Robert for sending me the manual pages.

The method described there would not work. I do not have the same model of overhead display as I do not have the Program Button described in the manual. My display even looks different.

I guess I will have to go to the dealer as there is nothing I can find to disable this feature. I have been putting this off for 6 months as I know the dealer will try to charge me and that they will need to keep the truck for a day (or two) just to change this option. Shoot, it will probably come back with a new problem caused by their work. Maybe I will just live with the horn chirp.

I just wish it worked like described in my manual.
