My neighbor in Arlington, Va was out in her yard yesterday at 11:00 weeding and decided she needed to run to the store so she took her yard tools to her back yard.
She had left her front door open, with the storm door closed while she was in the yard.
She walked in her front door to find a 20-something 'asian' guy standing in her dining room with her purse in his hand.
He took off out her back door, and she call the Popo.
They responded within two minutes and a K9 tracked his scent to the nearby bike path where he had dumped her purse and wallet minus only the cash.
All other contents were recovered.
Bad guy still on the run.
Gotta be careful, but gotta be SMART first.
I'll bet she keeps her door closed from now on.
At Casa del Shovelhead, we still leave the keys in the vehicles, and rarely lock our doors.
Can't wait to get out of the 'civilized' city..........

Got another one.
The other day I got a call from one of my triplex complexes in Rialto where I have a DVR system installed and she said the tenant wasn't gone 10 minuets when the gardner saw the front door wide open, when the manager called the police they found they had stolen the wide screen TV, all of her jewelry and tossed everything in the bedroom. It was 2 black guys.
Doesn't look too suspicious does it?
They later found the TV dumped behind some bushes at the opposite end of the complex.
The police saw the video and ask for me to make them a copy so I burned it to a DVD.
This is reminiscent of the Los Angeles Riots with all of the looting.

I guess I'd want to leave too.
But, I don't like to run from an issue so I'd suggest getting laws changed that allow THEM to leave or pay with physical injurries and MARKINGS as a thief.
First offense:
How about catching them and tattoing bulls eyes on thier faces?
Second:
loose a thumb.
Third:
Loose the hand!
Forth: And there will be a 4th
Dispose of all the evidence and don't tell anyone.

Jim,
Watching your videos makes me dislike SoCal more than ever. My shop on Arrow hwy. by Citrus has had a rash of taggings lately, local P.D. caught 3 of them Sunday night.
And from the location I think I saw you Sunday evening, heading south on Grand from the 210 around 6:15.

On Arrow hwy between Citrus and Barranca (closer to Citrus) in between Tommy's burgers and the storage place, Direct Carpet Sales. I do mainly sales, but as I am sure you understand, I do whatever is necessary to keep things running smoothly.
My father opened up here in 1977, so I remember the area when it was A LOT nicer.

We have dwarf plum trees. A wonderful source of ammunition for the Section 8s across the fence; I use a 1/2" PVC pipe 36" long @ 120PSI.

I had a gal working for me that lived in the Cedar-Riverside area of Minneapolis, well known for certain trouble makers.
She used to freeze marsh mallows, then use them and a wrist rocket on the intruders.
Can't you see the kid running to his parents crying that he's been hurt by a marsh mallow.
